Conclusions: The result of survey of cross-infection control program appeared that most of the dentist in the private clinic that participate in this study in Mosul city do not follow the standard guidelines for infection control and there was a significant difference between the different answers, so the dentist and clinic staff need more knowledge and training to understanding the basic rules of standard precautions which are the basic processes of infection control which will prevent the transmission of infection. Results: The results appeared that the percentage of answer with (yes) was 38.87% and the percentage of answer with (no) was 61.13%, and there was a significant difference between the answers. T-test was carried out to determine the significant differences between the answers at p≤ 0.05. Statistical Analysis : data was collected, and the number of answers with (yes) and answer with (no) for questions was determined to assess the percentage of practice of cross-infection control program by dentists in private clinic. pneumoniae on impression and cast.Īim: The aim of the study is to using a questionnaire-based survey to assess the practice of cross-infection control program by dentists in private dental clinic in Mosul city Materials and methods: A questionnaire was designed depending on national guidelines and regulations (American Dental Association (ADA) guidelines for infection control) to assess the details of cross-infection control program in private clinic. Immersion alginate impression in sodium hypochlorite 0.5% for four minutes can be used to disinfect the impression of post hemimaxillectomy patients' because sodium hypochlorite 0.5% is effective to eliminate K. There was an effect of immersing post hemimaxillectomy patients' alginate impression in sodium hypochlorite 0.5% for two and four minutes on K. pneumoniae on MacConkey's agar after immersing post hemimaxillectomy patients' alginate impression in sodium hypochlorite 0.5% for four minutes. Study results showed there was no growth of K. pneumoniae were obtained from the swab on surface of the impression and cast, cultured on MacConkey's agar, then counting the number of colonies was conducted. Sixteen sample were divided into eight groups consisting of control group (two minutes), control group (four minutes), disinfection group (two minutes), disinfection group (four minutes) of the alginate impression obtained from four post hemimaxillectomy patients'.
